Digital Signage
Patrick Media Inc has partnered with EyeMedia Digital. To find out more about digital signage here is a brief outline taken from the eyemedia web site.
WHAT IS DIGITAL SIGNAGE?
Digital signage is an answer. Plain and Simple.
Digital signage is a form of out-of-home advertising that most often appears on some type of digital display – most often an LED, LCD or Plasma screen. Digital signage, allows for the simultaneous display of scrolling data feeds, text, stills, power-point slides and animated or full-motion video messages.
Whatever the content, the purpose of digital signage is the same: It’s trying to communicate a message to the viewer. It’s not to be confused with a fancy way of watching television however. It educates, sells a product or service, or conveys an idea to a specifically targeted audience.
A digital signage system generally consists of a number of components. The display (usually an LCD or Plasma screen) and some sort of media player that stores the content and “pushes” it to the display. Then there’s the software – the set of instructions that governs the entire system.
The network – the final component – is optional, but highly recommended for multiple displays. This allows for the management of the displays from any computer linked to the internet. Signage content can be scheduled, replaced, deleted or updated at the click of a mouse.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF DIGITAL SIGNAGE?
Digital signage increases revenues and saves costs.
Digital signage increases the likelihood of unplanned purchases in the retail environment. According to Arbitron, one out of three people made an unplanned purchase after seeing an item featured on a store’s display.
Shoppers are more receptive to targeted, quality retail advertising via digital signage. DS advertising reaches consumers at a critical point when they are ready to purchase a product or service thus increasing sales.
DS enables vendors to change out their messages more quickly and cost-effectively as well as target specific viewers much more effectively than traditional forms of advertising.
DS allows businesses to educate and inform customers about additional products or services. And by doing so businesses are providing them with additional buying options and making it easier for them to act.
DS can be used to successfully enhance and build upon a company’s brand image.
